Ms. Zastrow,

I am a commercial real estate appraiser & am conducting a research project about the Mills Act. I saw your blog article in a Google Alert I have set up.

Have you had any direct experience with sales of Mills Act properties? Because of the reduction in Property Taxes, I am trying to locate sales data to analyze whether these properties are selling at a premium because of the lower taxes.

I would appreciate any data or opinions you have!

You can go to my Website & see the type of properties in which I specialize. I am planning to include my findings so far RE: the Mills Act in the "Historic Property" page. However, I am in the middle of a complete overhaul of my Website & have not added this yet.

I too appreciated this article. I have lived in my house for 15 years, I finally almost have it just the way I want it. The value goes up, the value goes down and of course I prefer the value going up... but in the scheme of things I am not selling, I am not spending my equity... it is my home and I too love mine.
