Los Angeles Textile District
Recently I noticed that the upholstery on my bar stools was looking a little shabby. When I looked at purchasing new bars stools I realized I didn't want to spend $200+ each on new stools when I liked the ones I already had. I decided to head down to the textile district in downtown Los Angeles to find a fabric to recover them with.
The textile district is located just east of the infamous Santee Alley on Maple. You will find dozens of places with a wide variety of fabric, accessories, beading and trim. There is metered 1 hour street parking available or you can pay just $5 to park all day. I found that all of the people that work down there are more than happy to help you and ready to bargain!
I was able to find a fabric that was just was I was looking for and it was able to recover all four stools for only $45!
