Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has selected Charlie Beck, a 32-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department as the new Chief of Police.  As most of you know, my parents were both Los Angeles Police Officers.  When Bratton announced he was going to step down, my Mom said that she had hoped that he would be replaced by someone within the department.  Needless to say she was pleased with the announcement that was made today. 

Should Glendale residents be concerned with who the new Los Angeles Police Chief is?  Of course we should!  A good part of our town borders Los Angeles!  LAPD plays a key role in the safety of our town.
