Dia de Reyes

Today is Dia de Reyes, known as Three Kings Day  or in English.  Traditionally those that celebrate this day will gather in their homes to eat the sweet bread we call Rosca de Reyes.  The bread is shared to represent the arrival of the three kings that went to visit baby Jesus in Bethlehem.  The bread is baked in the shape of a ring and decorated with dried fruit and nuts.  Baked inside the bread is a plastic baby Jesus.  As tradition goes, whoever gets the piece of Rosca de Reyes containing the baby is obliged to host another party on or before Feb. 2.

Feliz Dia de Reyes!
