Hot Tamales
Every once in awhile someone asks me where to get good tamales. Before my Abuela (Grandmother) passed away the thought of buying tamales was unheard of! Fortunately for me one of my clients who works for the California Community Foundation invited me to join her for breakfast at Mama's Hot Tamales Café. She wanted to introduce me to this café that has been the center of a neighborhood revitalization effort that literally transformed MacArthur Park into an Urban Oasis, click here to read more. After eating there I was hooked! They have a great menu and a wide varitety of tamales to choose from.
Mama's Hot Tamales Café has been featured in several well known magazines including People Magazine and is very well known throughout the Los Angeles community. The café is a business and employment education center that provides the resources necessary to train street vendors in the disciplines necessary to begin a career path. Not only is it a great place for tamales it is a great way to help make a difference in the Los Angeles community.
