Mastering The Art Of Driving A Hard Bargain

When I was little I was a Camp Fire Girl and every year we had to sell toffee nuts.  I was an extremely shy kid (believe it or not) and my Mom made me sell every single can of my toffee nuts.  She pushed me to do things like that because she knew I had to over come my shyness.  She had no idea that she was creating a little monster!

I like to think that I am a good sales person, at least that's what my client's say .  I am however a very tough sale, and I am known to give even the pushiest (there's nothing worse than a pushy sales person!) sales person a run for their money!  Take for example the customer service person at the Sprint store today.  I decided to get each of my darling nieces a cell phone for Christmas, so I went in to see what they were willing to do for me.  By the time I walked out of the store I got everything I asked for but it took some work.  When I questioned the sales tax on the phones they were giving me (I was not purchasing them) they immediately said they would wave it.  Then there was the $18 activation fee, are you kidding?  Oh well for you Mrs. Zastrow we will wave that too.  Of course they will, these are some tough times!

The point I am trying to make is this....get over your shyness or your embarrassment over asking for a lower price on something because it never hurts to ask, right.  Oh and if you are going to the Sprint store, tell them Mrs. Zastrow sent you!!!
